Basic Computer Skills for PC or Mac
We know some of the computer techniques and terminology can be a bit overwhelming, even if you have mastered E-mail and Internet use.
We offer a 90 minute session to help you get started, and we guarantee you will benefit. We even video record the training session and send a video file for you to review later. The orientation is broken down into these areas:
1. The parts: This includes the difference between the desktop and my computer, and how my documents fits into the picture.
2. Navigation: We show you how to get around whether it is "drilling down" into desktop folders, my documents, or My Computer.
3. File Menu: The file menu is common to all applications and is one of the most important things to master, including Printing and the secrets of options and preferences.
4. Internet: How do you get connected? What are the basics of a browser? How do you organize the places you want to "visit"? What are Pop-Ups? What about security?
5. Plugs and Cables: It might seem strange to focus on these. But there are times when it is important to unplug and replug them in order to trouble-shoot a problem, even if you are getting support over the telephone. So we spend some time on all the wires.
