What is a plan? A plan begins with a statement of purpose. This purpose defines the execution strategy. This execution strategy guides a process that deals with the issues of limited resources and time. A plan translates purpose to activities and metrics, and then fits them into a framework of time. A plan then ties outcomes to timeframes and people. A plan does these five things.
1. Sequences Events in the most efficient manner 2. Integrates Functions to work together seamlessly 3. Repurposes Information to insure communication 4. Establishes goals as the means to measure results 5. Provides the ability to adapt to conditions
All activities in a plan are keyed to the execution strategy. This plan guides behaviors, and defines how to measure the results. Following a plan is the most probable method of making execution the reason for success
